Açaí seed

Euterpe precatoria is a botanical species of palm tree, commonly known as palmito, manaca, chonta, Açaí de la selva or huasaí; native to South America, specifically the Peruvian, Bolivian and Brazilian Amazon. Its consumption dates back to pre-Columbian times and it is a very important food in the Amazonian diet.
The açaí, also called asaí, is a fruit rich in antioxidants, which favours the absorption of nutrients, and to which anti-ageing properties are attributed; in fact, the Amazonian natives who consume it on a daily basis are distinguished by their longevity. The seed comes from the Euterpe oleracea palm tree, which can grow up to 20 metres tall, making harvesting the fruit, which is usually done by hand, a complicated and dangerous task.
The seed is also used in energy and protection rituals by shamans in the Amazon rainforest. It is an ecological bead.

Bombona or Pona seed

Also known as bombona seed, it is found in the Peruvian rainforest and is processed and coloured for use in crafts, food, personal adornment and rituals in the Amazon rainforest.
This species is found in the Amazon region, from sea level to 1900 m altitude. The fruits are globose, 2 to 3 cm in diameter, yellowish brown when ripe, with a smooth, shiny, brittle shell; the seeds are globose, up to 2 cm in diameter, brown in colour, covered with whitish fibres. It is an ecological bead.
